A new diary entry posted by producer Andrew Gaty over at the Diamond Dead website has now confirmed that the film has officially (fingers crossed) secured full financing and is ready to begin filming next year - in Munich.
Andrew Gaty - "Reality is beginning to set in. We’re making Diamond Dead in Munich! My head is swimming with ideas on the drive back. I decide to leave for LA the next day. There is no time to waste. Christian graciously invites us for dinner that evening to recap everything.
I remember drinking lots of wine and not much recaping."
Gaty has signed a deal with Joseph Vilsmaier, (producer, director and cinematographer of several German films) to co-finance the film, allthough Joseph’s new movie “Leo und Claire” is premiering in a few weeks so he can’t spend any time on Diamond Dead until April 16th the earliest.
No news yet on whether the production will wait for George Romero to be free from his Land of the Dead duties, but as ever, we will keep you posted as more news comes in.
