Despite the ever so slightly contravercial subject matter in this years Chuck Parello serial-killer movie, we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't report that The Hillside Strangler is getting the Tartan Video DVD treatment here on November 12th.
When we first saw this movie at August's Frightfest, we thought it was a pretty sleazy ride, especially with the added guilty joy of seeing C. Thomas Howell (in full-on William H Macy mode) return to our screens as real-life loser-killer Kenneth Bianchi.
But the movie has it's good moments, the dialogue is fairly snappy, and the performances are more than reasonable - it's just thereís something about the dirtiness of it all that is so off-putting.
We're more fans of horror comedy and more classic horror as opposed to the more sexually violent flicks like this and 2001's Bundy, but it takes all sorts to make the world of horror go round so check it out.
