Seems like the fog is swelling and moving closer to its shoot date, with news that the lead roles have been cast in the Rupert Wainwright remake of John Carpenter's classic for Revolution Studios.
Hollywood Reporter have published an article stating that Tom Welling and Maggie Grace (both more famous for their TV roles in Smallville and Lost respectively) will take the lead roles in the remake which is being produced by Debra Hill, David Foster and John Carpenter himself. Cooper layne is adapting the screenplay based on the original 1980 film.
Welling will play a local boat owner who never left the town, and Grace will portray a college girl who is back in her hometown for the summer.
Fog is set in a Northern California town where, around 100 years previously a ship sank under mysterious circumstances in a thick, eerie fog. The ghosts of the deceased mariners return from their watery graves to seek their revenge.
