Alex Garland was the guy who famously wrote The Beach, then penned the amazingly successful 28 Days Later. Between those two projects, however, he snuck out a fairly neat book simply named The Tesseract.
I read it on release, but my memory of books no way rivals my ability to remember every little bit of Kino I ever see, so I can't really remember what it was about. Something about a hitman, and a local family and some other characters in Manila. It's one of those books that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, if I remember rightly.
So imagine my surprise when i discovered that the Pang Brothers (of Bangkok Dangerous and The Eye fame) have already finished the movie adaptation, starring Johnathon Rhys-Meyers and Lene Christensen.
