Romero's Land of the Dead release date moved to June
12th Apr 05
Universal must be happy with what they're seeing on Romero's Land of the Dead, as they've pulled the US release date froward from the horror-friendly Halloween October 21st date to a more competitive summer release date of June 24th.
This, following news (see here) recently that Romero was heading back out to shoot some "necessary" pick-ups, all bodes well for a cracking zombie-flick. It is currently pencilled in for a July 29th release in the UK.
George Romero's Land of the Dead (to give it its full official title) features a plot whereby the zombies have taken over the world and those humans still left alive are confined to a walled-in city that keeps out the corpse corps.
Anarchy rules the streets, with the wealthy insulated and living in fortified skyscrapers. The story revolves around a group of scavengers who must thwart an attempt to overthrow the city while the dead evolve from brainless slow-moving creatures into more advanced creatures.
26th Apr 04 Itís not all bad of course. This is Tarantino, after all, and there are plenty of highlights. Action scenes are handled very well, (the fight between Black Mamba and Darryl Hannah in particular, is a poke in the eye to any who doubt that),
