"All that stands between light and darkness in the Night Watch." And so says the new (and very vivid) poster for the upcoming Russian horror-epic first-parter, Night Watch.
With blacks, electric blues and fiery orange colours, the poster is certainly a very striking design, and we can only hope the visuals and plot of the film (and for that matter, the ultra-fancy subtitling system) can match up to the artwork and the already stunning trailer we've been seeing lately.
We'll get the chance to find out when it is released nationwide on October 7th - although FrightFest-goers will see an advance screening on Sunday, August 28th at London's Odeon West End.
Set in contemporary Moscow, Night Watch revolves around the conflict and balance maintained by the forces of light and darkness - the result of a ancient truce between the opposing sides.
As night falls the dark forces battle the super-human "Others" of the Night Watch, whose mission is to patrol and protect. But there is constant fear that an ancient prophecy will come true, that a powerful "Other" will rise up, be tempted by one of the sides and tip the balance plunging the world into a renewed war betweent the dark and the light, the result which would be catastrophic.
