5-disc The Blind Dead Box Set to be released in November
20th Oct 05
Blue Underground actually released this box set on Region 1 DVD last month, but it has now been announced that the UK (Region 2) version of Spanish writer-director Amando de Ossorio's Blind Dead quadrilogy will now be released by Anchor Bay UK on November 14th 2005.
The first film, Tombs of the Blind Dead was released in 1971 (read our review of the film here) and was so successful it went on to spawn three sequels - Return of the Blind Dead, The Ghost Galleon and Night of the Seagulls - and so was born one of the most startling series of films in horror history.
This unique quartet of shockers delivers a relentless onslaught of creepy atmosphere, shocking violence, forbidden sexuality, and the still-chilling icons of EuroHorror: The eyeless undead who hunt by sound in their quest for human flesh.
We now hear that Anchor Bay UK is proud to present the definitive DVD editions of these four Euro-horror classics, fully restored from original vault materials and remastered in high definition, and collected together for the first time in the five-disc boxed set, The Blind Dead Collection.
As well as the four films, the collection also includes an exclusive Bonus Disc of interviews with the late Amando de Ossorio that will only be available as part of this collection and the box set is priced at £29.99.

9th Nov 04 Overall, the film has an uneasy and very sinister feel about it. Hittites donít need to do anything to look scary, especially Isiah, which sees Borgnine in a role similar to the Beelzebub-worshipping...
2nd Feb 05 In fact, not content with being appallingly bad all the way though, the ending to Porno Holocaust is literally one of the most hilariously bad sequences I have ever seen, and Iíve seen the Star Wars Holiday Special.
