With the tagline of "Whatever you do.. Don’t Scream", Slither is currently scheduled for a US cinema release in March 2006, and the new trailer for the film has now surfaced online, and pretty good it looks too.
Written and directed by James Gunn and starring Michael (Henry) Rooker, Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks, this sci-fi horror is set in the sleepy town of Wheelsy (aren’t most horror films set in sleepy towns!) with its quaint and gentle atmosphere and friendly folk who mind their own business. But, wouldn’t you know, something unnamed and evil has arrived... and is growing.
It’s not long before lots of ‘Missing Pet’ posters begin appearing on the town’s telephone poles and local inhabitant Grant (Rooker) starts to act strangely.
Suspecting something’s up when farmers’ livestock appears horribly mutilated and a young woman goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy (Fillion) and Grant’s wife (Banks) begin investigating the dark forces laying siege to their town, and soon come face-to-face with an older-than-time organism intent on absorbing and devouring all life on Earth.
