Guillermo del Toro's release of Hellboy on DVD is coming way sooner than expected with a new release date stateside of July 20th, a mere 16 weeks after the film's initial theatre release and months before it comes to our shores.
The two-disc special edition DVD will contain video introductions by director Guillermo del Toro and star Selma Blair, plus a cool feature in which viewers can click during selected parts of the movie to bring up images drawn by Mike Mignola, who scribed the originals comics for Dark Horse Entertainment.
Other bonus features include audio commentaries by del Toro, Blair, Mignola, Ron Perlman, Jeffrey Tambor and Rupert Evans, as well as visits to the 'Right Hand of Doom' set and sizeable two-hour documentary.
Ron Perlman and del Toro met on the set of Blade 2 and became friends soon after. According to del Toro, Perlman is the only actor alive who could possibly have done the role of Hellboy and justice at all.
