Variety have revealed that New Line Cinema have finally started work on a second sequel to their huge hit Final Destination (2000).
The second sequel (2003) was certianly well received by most genre critics, and although it didn't make as much money as the first, it certainly did well enough to secure a third outing for the 'escape from death' franchise. Now New Line are returning to the original director (James Wong) and writer (Glenn Morgan) to create a Final Destination 3.
There are no offical details released as yet (it looks like they're still working on the script), but there are rumours that it will be in 3D (hmmm..) and that the opening 'crash' that will trigger the film's storyline will take place at an amusement park.
The producers of the first film pre-empted the massive success of Spiderman. First choice for Andy was Tobey Maguire, whilst Kirsten Dunst was the first choice for Clear. The final choices were Devon Sawa and Ali Larter, who also appeared in the sequel.
