Start date for Hills Have Eyes remake
12th Feb 05
Now this could be interesting. Very interesting indeed. Not only is the original writer / directer Wes Craven coming back on board as a producer for Dimension Films, but he's also handed over the directing ropes to one of horror's most promising gore-masters, Alexandre Aja of Switchblade Romance fame.
The Hills Have Eyes remake now has a definite shooting start date of April this year, and filming will continue for nine weeks. The script has been written by Gregory Levasseur who also wrote Switchblade Romance.
The new version follows a suburban American family who take a trip cross-country. However, when their trailer breaks down mysteriously in the New Mexico desert, they are preyed upon by a family of deformed hill people. (Huh? - so that's pretty much the same as the first one then!)
Here's hoping they find room to bring back both Beast and Michael Berryman...
