Update on Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things remake

 As reported earlier this year, (see here for more info), Eatmybrains hero director Bob Clark is currently putting together a remake of his own zombie film Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things and has recently cast Adam Beach (Windtalkers) as the new male lead.
To add more saliva to our drool for the possibility of this flick, Bob Clark recently spoke to website www.iconsofffright/com with more information on the remake, which is intended to remain true to the original’s spirit, while updating it slightly with a few interesting twists for today's audiences.
Bob Clark: "Other films have handled zombies with comedy before, but in those movies it's the humans that are comedic in the way they react to the zombies. Well, we wanted a fresh approach, so in this one I want to show our ghouls living it up, doing the funny stuff while the people run around horrified! It's going to be outrageous and frightening, but we're also having fun with the genre. Think Monty Python with zombies!"
Sounds pretty good to us, especially if he can recreate some of the classic blacker-than-black humour of his last genre film, Black Christmas (see here for our Zombie Club review of this film) way back in 1974.
Shooting is due to begin early next year, mostly in Vancouver. Clark has penned the new script and will helm the $12 million-budgeted pic. It will be a Canada-U.K. co-production with London-based Hamish Gibson also taking on producing duties.
